On Thursday 1st September, The Eve Appeal is launching Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month (GCAM) to raise awareness of all five gynaecological cancers throughout the month (and beyond!). They will be encouraging women across the UK to #KnowYourBody and to be aware of the signs and symptoms of the five gynaecological cancers.
The charity knows that stigma, taboo and embarrassment are key barriers to women talking openly about signs and symptoms and seeking medical help. They also know that awareness of the gynae cancers themselves is very low. However, The Eve Appeal is determined to change this and make gynae cancers as easy to talk about without shame or embarrassment as breast cancer.
That is why this September, Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month will focus on the concept of #KnowYourBody, which demonstrates the gynaecological knowledge gap among women of the UK about their own anatomy, gynae issues as well as cancers and their associated signs and symptoms.
